Super Hummus – Suitable on a Six food elimination diet (no milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanuts and tree nut, fish and shell fish)
A six food elimination diet is often used to treat Eosinophilic Esophagitis and clients are advised to avoid milk, egg, wheat (rye and barley in some cases), soy, peanuts and tree nuts and fish and shell fish.
For a super easy snack I suggest the recipe posted by Dawn Jackson Blatner.
This recipe is free from all the six main allergens (milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shell fish) .
Allergic to sesame or do not like garlic? I omitted the tahini and garlic from the recipe, added ½ grilled red pepper (but fresh will work as well) and some smoked paprika.
Kids do not want to eat hummus? Add a shot of home-made barbecue sauce! This recipe is very tasty even without the sugar.
